Moving country for good
A move is not a longer holiday. When your registered country stops being a true description of where you live, the account’s market is wrong — and an account that is wrong about its market is the one case in this whole subject where the right answer is usually to close and start again.
Three states of one account
What migrates, and what does not
| Layer | Crosses a border? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Cash balance | Usually | It is the player’s money; the terms normally provide a withdrawal route even when the account is closing |
| Bonus and free-bet balances | Rarely | Bonus terms are written per market and typically lapse when the market stops applying |
| Local payment methods | No | The rail itself is local — a bank transfer product in one country does not exist in the next |
| Identity verification | Sometimes | An operator in the new market may accept what was already verified, or may re-run checks under its own rules |
| Historic bet records | Yes | Settled under the rules that applied when they were struck, and they stay settled |
| Promotions, tiers, market perks | No | They are market products, not account attributes |
A proper relocation, in order
- 01
Withdraw first
Before any change of address, take the balance out through the route you have already used. It is the step that removes every remaining question about the money.
- 02
Tell the operator the truth
Update the registered address and ask, in writing, whether it holds a licence covering your new country. The answer decides the rest.
- 03
Let it close if it must
If the new country is not covered, the correct outcome is a closure with the balance returned. An account kept alive in the wrong market is a breach of the terms, not a clever workaround.
- 04
Open locally if you continue
A new account in the new market starts under that market’s rules, protections and complaint routes. That is the whole point of the exercise, and it is also where this site stops: it names no operator as a place to play.
A relocation is a test of the account’s registered market, not of the connection. The registered address, the identity documents and the payment country all move with you, and they are the signals the check weighs most heavily. Full mechanism on a VPN changes nothing; what happens to the money meanwhile is on your balance.
